Sew Eurodrive Planetary Gearbox RM147 DRN280S4 Helical Gear Reducer for Industrial Transmission
The SEW Eurodrive RM147-DRN280S4 helical planetary gear reducer delivers reliable industrial power transmission. Gear motors and reducers marked “KORROSIONSSCHUTZ” on the fan guard receive dedicated corrosion protection. Beyond standard coating, optional OS1–OS4 surface protection grades are available, plus Special Procedure Z that applies rubber filler to large surface cavities before painting. Forced-cooling fan motors cannot use KS corrosion protection. All coatings follow DIN EN ISO 12944 standards with defined nominal dry film thickness for grey cast iron housings.

SEW Gear Motors and Helical Gear Reducers marked with “KORROSIONSSCHUTZ” (corrosion protection) on the fan guard are equipped with special anti-corrosion treatment.
OS Surface Protection
Besides standard surface coatings, SEW Eurodrive helical gear reducers and planetary gearboxes including the RM147-DRN280S4 model can be supplied with OS1 to OS4 surface protection grades. You may also select the optional Special Procedure Z. This process applies rubber filler to large surface cavities before painting.
Please note: Motors fitted with forced cooling fans cannot be offered with KS corrosion protection.

¹ NDFT: Nominal Dry Film Thickness, the specified coating thickness. Minimum thickness = 80% of NDFT; Maximum thickness = 3 × NDFT (DIN EN ISO 12944-5)
Suitable Application Environments
- Standard coating: 1 dip primer + 1 one-pack topcoat
Approx. 50–70 μm dry film thickness. Designed for normal environmental conditions, relative humidity below 90%, maximum surface temperature of 120°C, corrosivity category C1².
