SEW Gear Motor | Helical Speed Reducer Model 70-10BA16, DR Series AC Motors
Circuit Breakers & Protection Devices
General Project Planning Guidelines
Within Tolerance Range A, the motor shall maintain continuous-duty (S1) operation while delivering full rated torque. Minor deviations from rated voltage and rated frequency specifications are acceptable for other performance parameters and thermal characteristics.
Within Tolerance Range B, the motor can still output rated torque, yet continuous S1 operation is not supported. Temperature rise and deviations from nominal motor data will be more significant compared to Tolerance Range A. Frequent motor operation at the boundary limits of Tolerance Range B should be avoided.
Undervoltage Operation
When undervoltage occurs, typically caused by a weak power supply network or undersized motor cables, catalog performance figures including power output, torque and rotational speed cannot be achieved. This effect is most noticeable during motor startup, where the starting current reaches several times the rated current.
