Installation & Project Planning Guidelines

SEW Helical Gear Reduction Box / Planetary Gearbox — RM147-DRN280M4

For optimal performance and safety, please follow the project planning instructions outlined in the section "Project Planning Information for AC Motors with Inverters" (Page 73 and subsequent pages), along with the key guidelines below.

Brake Motors on Inverter Drives

When installing brake motors with inverter-fed drives, observe the following:

  • Separate brake cables from all other power cables, maintaining a minimum clearance of 200 mm.
  • Joint routing of brake and power cables is only permitted if either the brake cable or the power cable is properly shielded.

Tachometer Connection to Inverter

When connecting the tachometer, please ensure the following:

  • Use shielded cables with twisted-pair conductors exclusively.
  • Connect the cable shield to the PE (protective earth) potential at both ends, ensuring a large surface-area connection.
  • Route signal cables separately from power cables and brake cables, keeping a minimum distance of 200 mm.
  • Note: For complete details, please refer to the section "Project Planning Information for AC Motors with Inverters" on Page 73.

Circuit Breaker & Protective Equipment

Ensure that appropriate circuit breakers and protective devices are selected and installed in accordance with general project requirements to guarantee safe and reliable operation.
