General Product Description
2.1 Energy efficient motors
CEMEP, the European association of electric motor manufacturers, has entered an agreement with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. Under this agreement, all 2-pole and 4-pole low-voltage AC motors with power ratings ranging from 1 kW to 100 kW are categorized by efficiency levels. The efficiency classification is clearly marked on each motor nameplate and listed in product catalogs.
Three efficiency tiers are defined: EFF3, EFF2 and EFF1.
- EFF3: Motors with no special efficiency requirements
- EFF2: Motors with upgraded efficiency performance
- EFF1: High-efficiency motors
